Ella Fitzgerald
Lady Ella, "The first lady of song." I couldn't find a link to my favorite song of hers, "St. Louis Blues" So, instead I will link a video that displays a talent that her and I both share. Scatting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbL9vr4Q2LU&a=ErJodczmHgI&playnext_from=ML

Discoveries and breakthroughs...
Discovery #1So, as I was clicking through Lucian Freud's work I stumbled upon my reference photo I must have used from Google image search months ago... It feels as though my Elephant man has found his father for the first time and understands where he came from.

Discovery#2

I died and went to illustrator heaven when I came across his work. Beautiful BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL! He's not bad to look at either. Maybe someday I will learn italian, pack my paints, and go look for him in Roma. Here's his website: http://www.danielegneus.com/4/28/10
Christopher Walken
Like most of the things I post on here... I am still working on this. I have to take a break from working on this one for a while because last night as I was working on it in dim lamp light, I started to feel like a funeral home beautician. For now I will let him rest peacefully for a bit before I go back into painting those glassy eyeballs anymore.

On my trip to South Carolina I turned it into a giant opportunity to people watch and sketch strangers. I brought a couple pens filled with yellow ocher watercolor and tried to sketch as loosely as possible. On the flight from Atlanta to South Carolina, this man caught me creepishly eyeballing passengers in sight picking out my next sketch victim and asked me to draw him while he napped.

Illustrated Notebook!
Sentence from my 1970's First Aid book: "Have victim sip a glass of water every 15 minutes" And I had my Grandfather Woody's picture on hand, so here he sits. (While chillin' and drinkin' a ton of iced salt water. NUM NUM!
Here is my married couple. The sentence I pulled out of the book to illustrate this was- "Keep victim still and lay him on his back."
